Kumari Falls (Kumari Ella)

Location: Hewainna, Puwakpitiya, Sri Lanka.

Being one of the very few waterfalls situated within the Colombo Disctrict, Kumari Ella has been a very popular destination due to its easy accessibility. Although, quite small in size compared to other famous waterfalls found in the country, still this waterfall is no less in beauty and grandeur.

Elgin Falls

Location: Ambewela, Sri Lanka.

Situated around 1 900 m above the sea level, within the boundaries of the Elgin Tea Estate, the Elgin Falls is bit of an elusive scenery to a railway passenger in Sri Lanka. This, picturesque waterfall can be seen (on the right side of the track) for a brief moment when travelling from Nanu Oya to Ambewela by train.

Devon Falls

Named after an English pioneering coffee planter, Devon Falls is one of the mostly visited and breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls situated in the Nuwara Eliya district in Sri Lanka.

Being one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Sri Lanka, St. Clair’s Falls has been a hot topic among the environmentalists when it was revealed that it would be threatened by the Upper Kotmale Hydro Power Project. As a top contender in the list of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, this natural wonder has always received the prime attention from the local as well as foreign tourists alike, due to its close proximity to the Avissawella – Nuwara Eliya (A7) road.
