Travel Notes

Following are based on the visit to Café on the 5th for a dinner for around 10 guests, on 2011-10-12.

  • Credit/debit cards are not accepted here! So remember to have cash ready.
  • Even though, almost all the meal portions were exceptionally large, taste was quite dependent on the selection of dishes. Therefore, in general not everybody could enjoy.
  • Fruit juices and other soft drinks were quite good and plentiful.
  • Any liquor whatsoever (including beer) was not served.
  • In general, the service was not excellent, but acceptable considering the charges.
  • This place cannot be recommended, for an example if you are looking for a place to have a corporate dinner with your foreign colleagues. Do not expect that level of service or surrounding here.

  1. This was one of my favourite restaurants in Colombo during my University days. I have been here a few times. Its a lovely place to chill out. One of the other options available is that they make some really good snacks which could be purchased for tea !!!
