Mahapelessa Hot Water Springs

Location: Mahapelessa - Sooriyawewa, Sri Lanka.

Situated in a remote area in the Hambanthota District, Mahapelessa Hot Water Springs (also known as ‘Madunagala Hot Water Springs’ because of the Madunagala Hermitage situated close by), is a very interesting and refreshing attraction one can reach easily while travelling from Embilipitiya to Nonagama on A18 road.

Madunagala Eco Agro-Tourism Village

As a part of the development carried out by the Ruhunu Tourist Bureau around Mahapelessa Hot Water Springs, a number of new projects are underway. One of those initiatives, is the Madunagala Eco Agro-Tourism Village. A large area spread around the hot water springs, is being restructured to depict various aspects of the traditional Sri Lankan lifestyle specially concerning agriculture.

Madunagala Holiday Bungalow

Placed among vegetable nurseries and paddy fields just few hundred metres beyond the Mahapelessa Hot Water Springs, this little known holiday bungalow is an oasis for the nature-loving traveller. A stay here would give the guest a unique experience of Agro-Tourism.
