Being one of the oldest zoos in Europe, the Copenhagen Zoo (København Zoo in Danish) is considered to be one of the most visited attractions in Denmark. Highly noted for its modern infrastructure and its involvement in various breeding programmes and safeguarding attempts, this zoo obtains a significant spot on the tourist map of Europe.

- Afrika (Africa) – featuring rhinoceros, giraffe, impala, okapi, sable antelope, ostrich, zebra, hippopotamus, hornbill, Congo Peafowl and caracal etc.
- Øer (Islands) – featuring emu, kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, ring-tailed lemur and kea etc.
- Børnezoo (Children’s Zoo) – featuring llama, goat, cow, pig, horse, rabbit and chicken etc.

Getting There…
- Approach the Zoo from Vesterbrogade, Pile Allé, Roskildevej or Søndre Fasanvej. (Parking along Roskildevej and Søndre Fasanvej)
- Bicycle parking is outside the Zoo's main entrance.
Several busses have a stop right outside the Zoo's main entrance - others have a stop quite close to the Zoo.
- 4A From Svanemøllen St.ation, Nørrebro Station, Solbjerg Metro St.ation and Søndre Fasanvej. Bus 4A has a stop at the traffic lights at Søndre Fasanvej/Roskildevej.
- 6A From Nørreport Station, Rådhuspladsen, Vesterport Station, Hovedbanegården (main station), Vesterbrogade and Roskildevej (the Zoo). Bus 6A has a stop at the Zoo main entrance.
- 26 From Østerport Station, Kongens Nytorv, Rådhuspladsen, Hovedbanegården (main station) and Sdr. Fasanvej (the Zoo). Bus 26 has a stop at the traffic lights at Pile Allé/Roskildevej.
- 832 Servicebus in Frederiksberg. Bus 832 has a stop at the Zoo main entrance at Roskildevej.
- Valby Station is a 15 minutes' walk from the Zoo.
- Or catch bus 4A from Valby.
- The closest Metro is Frederiksberg by the Frederiksberg Center and Fasanvejen on Nordre Fasanvej are a 15-minutes' walk from the Zoo.

The Zoo is open 365 days a year.
The ticket office closes 30 minutes before the Zoo closes. During the period 30 June - 12 August the ticket office closes at 7 p.m.

Travel Notes

- The Zoo is very clean and organized indeed!
- The best period to visit would be during the summer.
